We're Hiring – Investment Analyst Apprentice

August One is a private investment firm regulated by the MAS in Singapore and the CMVM in Europe. We partner with governments, families, and corporates to invest in private equity, venture capital, and real asset opportunities. Our second European fund, Atlântico II, is backed by the Government of Portugal and focuses on venture capital and lower middle-market buyout opportunities. With a strong emphasis on innovation and high growth, we target four sectors:

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Investment Analyst Apprentice to support our team in sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments across Europe and Singapore. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in a dynamic, international environment, with exposure to high-potential companies tackling global challenges.

Timeframe and Location:  

3-6 months with the opportunity to get a full time offer after the apprenticeship period. The position is hybrid and based at our offices in Bangalore.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing & Networking:

  • Build and expand networks within local markets and the startup ecosystem.

  • Attend events, foster partnerships, and identify investment opportunities.

• Validation & Evaluation:

  • Assess companies’ market potential, competition, technology, and management teams to ensure alignment with investment criteria.

• Due Diligence & Market Research:

  • Conduct thorough due diligence and market analysis, with a focus on SME investments in Europe and beyond.

• Investment Documentation:

  • Prepare materials including valuation models, investment committee (IC) reports, and validation memos.

• Portfolio Management:

  • Track and monitor portfolio companies, develop financial models, and contribute to value creation and exit strategies.

• Event Support & Firm Development:

  • Organize workshops, panels, and networking events to enhance stakeholder engagement.

• Media & Communication:

  • Assist with media initiatives to boost the firm’s visibility and outreach.

• Fundraising:

  • Contribute to the company’s fundraising efforts by supporting strategy development, analyzing macroeconomic and market conditions, and assisting with investor outreach and relationship management.
    

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, startups, or equity research is a plus.

• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and quantitative skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English (additional languages are a bonus).

• Traits: self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and outcome-driven.

• Passion for venture capital, private equity, and startups.
